The installation of a heat recovery system consists of inserting between the compressor and the air cooled condenser a heat exchanger refrigerant/water to heat up water using the heat extracted from the cold room during cooling. The refrigerant transports the heat from the cold room (evaporator) to the heat recovery module where it releases heat to the water. The heat exchanger is a shell and tube type.
Traditional heat recovery systems only recover desuperheating phase from hot gases, which only represent about 15 to 20% of the total recoverable energy. In that case, the heat exchange temperature is not mastered: it is high in summer and low in winter. Boostherm heat recovery system allows recovering all the condensation heat generated by the cooling unit. This enables to heat up water very quickly at a minimum temperature of 55°C even in difficult conditions.
